Welcome to our website. We are a lively group
and aim to arrange activities and speakers to
suit many differing tastes. Many of our
meetings seem to include food and drink, and
the year has a sort of rhythm to it with
Christmas celebrations, a New Year dinner, an
outdoor visit to a local venue, and a summer
barbecue.
As you can see from out programme below, some meetings are open to non-members, so partners and spouses can come too. There are also two informal meetings each month held in members' homes. Some just go along for a chat, others bring craftwork to do. It can be a pleasant way of getting some mending done, being introduced to new crafts, and having a laugh at the same time.
The WI is an excellent way of becoming involved in what is going on in your local community, sometimes helping, sometimes as competitors, and sometimes providing tea and cakes. As a new venture, we are also currently arranging various classes in the village halls throughout the year for us and our community. At county and national level, the WI provides a constant stream of interesting opportunities for getting involved in various courses, meetings, competitions, debates, quizzes, and demonstrations.
We look forward to seeing new members at our meetings, which are usually on the first Monday of the month at 7.30 p. m. In Frogmore Village Hall in the winter and Sherford Village Hall in the summer.
